This is an entry-level miles card great for younger working adults who may not incur a high monthly spend yet. Since Citi Miles never expire, cardholders get a longer timeframe to accumulate enough for redemption.

One of the good things about Citi is that via Citi PayAll, you have the option of earning miles on bills like rent, insurance premiums, taxes, and utilities – categories that are typically excluded with other credit cards. You’ll have to pay a fee for this along with fulfilling a few other requirements (like a minimum spend).

This card also offers 2 airport lounge passes per year, complimentary travel insurance, and a boosted MPD rate when spending with Kaligo and Agoda.

This entry-level miles card is a rare gem that offers 3.2 MPD for local spending categories like dining out, public transport, Grab/taxi rides, and petrol. That’s good news for those of us who can’t afford to take frequent trips abroad for boosted MPD rates but still want a way to collect miles.

The card also offers a whole host of travel benefits, like free travel insurance, complimentary airport lounge access, and VIP lounge access when you charge S$1,000 in a single retail transaction within 3 months of your travel date.

At S$300 minimum spending, this card remains one of the most accessible options as well.

The UOB KrisFlyer Credit Card is a miles card and bank account rolled into one. With 3 MPD on local spending and another 3 MPD for transactions with SIA brands, this card is designed for travel enthusiasts who take regular trips via Singapore Airlines or Scoot.

The UOB PRVI strikes a balance between decent MPD earn rates and travel perks typically reserved for more affluent customers. It offers benefits such as:

  • Complimentary airport transfers
  • UOB PRVI Travel Butler with dedicated hotline for comprehensive travel assistance
  • Complimentary travel accident/illness insurance coverage up to S$50,000
  • 1.4 MPD for local spend and 2.4 MPD for overseas spend

As far as entry-level cards go, that’s one of the better local MPD rates. That said, you only get the bonus 20,000 miles when you spend at least S$50,000 a year, which makes this card best for high spenders.
